Visualization and Data Graphics about my subfield/regional focus in Geography: Latin America
This assignment has helped me understand which program is best for which purpose. By using ArcMap with R, I realized that GIS is better for (geographic) visualization as opposed to R, which is better for statistics. Through using and learning GeoDa (especially as the last class exercise), I would characterize GeoDa as a 'hybrid' between data visualization and statistics. While it can be used for statistical purposes, it is also a visualization tool, great for creating and displaying geographic data.
